Sponge Cake

Sponge cake has always been my go-to dessert to bake. My mom first taught me to make a matcha sponge cake, then I started making different versions of sponge cake. Airy, fluffy, and simple, here's the recipe I use down below.

First, preheat the oven at 150 degrees Celsius or 302 degrees Fahrenheit.
These are the Ingredients: Sugar, salt, milk, oil, cake flour, 4 eggs, and vinegar.

Then, separate the egg yolks and egg whites.

Next, whisk the egg whites with a mixer and evenly add sugar and vinegar while whisking. Turn off the mixer once stiff peaks have formed.

Afterward, add the milk, sugar, salt, vanilla, and flour into the egg yolks and whisk until even.

Then, gently fold the egg yolks mixture and egg whites mixture. (Sorry, I had trouble holding the camera with one hand and gently folding with the other, also my hands are really red and ugly here.)

Now, pour the batter in a round cake pan with parchment paper. Then, place the cake pan into a baking pan with hot water to give the cake a nice hot bath.
You're almost done! Place the pan into the oven and bake for 80 minutes. Yes, that may seem like a long time but trust me!
When the cake has finished baking, cool down the cake on a wire rack. The cake should look something like this
If you want, you can stop right here, sponge cake is often enjoyed plain and appreciated for it's simple yet delicious taste on its own.
This time, my brother wanted to eat whipped cream, so I whipped some heavy cream with vanilla extract and sugar. Then I put an even layer on to the top of the cake.

This was the final result!

Thanks for Reading! I'll try and post more random stuff more often.
